Overview
The Rapid Teaming in Experiential Learning Environments Certificate Course explores the dynamic practice of teaming in todays fast-paced healthcare environments. Unlike traditional teams with stable membership and defined roles, rapid teaming involves individuals coming together quickly, often across disciplines and organizational boundaries, to achieve shared goals and deliver high-quality patient care. Designed for faculty and preceptors, this 12-hour certificate course combines pre-course learning with live virtual training to develop practical skills for leading, participating in, and teaching effective rapid teaming. Participants will explore teaming as an individual and team learning process and learn how to leverage the strengths, perspectives, and expertise of diverse team members. Drawing on Team Science principles, participants will develop the ability to diagnose team strengths, identify weaknesses and immediate needs, and apply practical strategies to improve team effectiveness. The course introduces common, accessible principles and tools that can serve as a shared mental model for team members working together in dynamic environments. Participants will strengthen skills in communication, leadership, self-reflection, recognizing interdependence, perspective-taking, collaboration, and coordination. They will learn techniques that can be applied immediately during rapid teaming and incorporated into experiential learning environments to help learners become productive, adaptable members of healthcare teams. Upon completion, participants will be better prepared to navigate rapidly changing healthcare environments, foster effective collaboration, and teach learners how to contribute meaningfully to dynamic teamssupporting improved teamwork and optimal patient outcomes.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Apply rapid teaming strategies to effectively communicate, collaborate, and recognize interprofessional team strengths and needs within dynamic healthcare environments.
  2. Evaluate communication, coordination, and role clarity within dynamic healthcare teams to identify opportunities for improved team effectiveness.
  3. Develop an action plan to apply rapid teaming principles within participants own experiential learning environments.
