About Us

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Office of Professional Development and Accredited Continuing Education (OPDACE) advances faculty development and accredited continuing education to strengthen the interprofessional healthcare workforce. Guided by TTUHSC’s mission to improve the health of the people of West Texas and beyond, OPDACE develops innovative, evidence-based educational programs that enhance teaching, leadership, collaboration, and clinical practice.

Serving metro and rural communities across Lubbock, the Permian Basin, Amarillo, and surrounding regions, OPDACE supports the growth of faculty, clinicians, and the interprofessional healthcare team through accessible, needs-based education grounded in adult learning and lifelong learning principles. These programs are designed to strengthen professional development, improve healthcare team performance, and support the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is jointly accredited to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Through this framework, TTUHSC develops educational programs that bring healthcare professionals together to improve team performance, collaboration, and patient outcomes. TTUHSC may also award Continuing Education Units (CEUs) aligned with the ANSI IACET Standard, supporting professional learning across interdisciplinary healthcare audiences.
