Overview

The Panhandle Neonatal-Perinatal Symposium provides healthcare professionals with current, evidence-based education in neonatal and perinatal care. Through expert presentations and hands-on team-based scenarios, participants will strengthen clinical knowledge, practical skills, communication, and collaboration to support improved patient care and outcomes.

Respiratory Therapy credit to be provided by Amarillo College.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Apply current neonatal standards of care within healthcare teams serving the Texas Panhandle.
  2. Collaborate with the interprofessional healthcare team to coordinate evidence-based neonatal and perinatal care and provide compassionate support to patients and families.
  3. Recognize the emotional impact of infant loss on families and identify compassionate, team-based strategies for grief and bereavement support.
  4. Apply patient- and family-centered approaches to assessing parental stress, anxiety, and depression and facilitating appropriate support.
  5. Describe the indications, benefits, and essential techniques of LISA and SALSA and demonstrate best practice for appropriate clinical application.
