Overview
This enduring material examines the psychological impact of infertility on individuals and couples. Members of the interprofessional healthcare team will review coping strategies and therapeutic interventions for infertility-related stress, the relationship between infertility and perinatal mental health, and cases demonstrating the importance of mental-health support during fertility treatment.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify the psychological impact of infertility on individuals and couples.
  2. Discuss coping strategies and therapeutic interventions for managing infertilityrelated stress.
  3. Explore the intersection of infertility and perinatal mental health.
  4. Review case studies highlighting the importance of mental health support during fertility treatments.
  5. Collaborate with members of the interprofessional healthcare team to identify mental health needs, provide appropriate support, and connect individuals and couples experiencing infertility with relevant treatment and referral resources.

Registration

Registration is required to participate in this enduring material and claim credit. Go to the TTUHSC CloudCME portal and select the activity. After registering, select My CME from the menu, then select Tests to access the pre-test, educational video, post-test, and evaluation. Learners must complete all required components to receive credit.

This enduring material examines mental health challenges related to infertility, including grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, coping strategies, screening, referral, and coordinated interprofessional support.
