This live activity will address the role of chaplaincy in team-based care, communication, and wellness support. The session will help healthcare professionals understand when and how to include chaplains as part of the care team to support patients, families, colleagues, and trainees during difficult diagnoses, grief, emotional distress, burnout, and challenging conversations. The activity will also provide practical communication strategies for recognizing when a colleague or trainee may be struggling, responding with care, and connecting individuals with appropriate wellness resources.

1. Identify three ways chaplains partner with the interdisciplinary team to support patients and the families.
2. Identify three ways chaplains connect medicine and spirituality for patients.
3. Recognize at least three signs or cues that a colleague, patient, or family member may be experiencing significant stress, emotional distress, or burnout and identify appropriate ways to initiate a supportive conversation.
4. Identify at least three strategies chaplains can use to support individuals and interdisciplinary care teams experiencing stress or crisis, including approaches for connecting individuals with appropriate resources and support.
5. Identify at least two approaches for promoting a culture of well-being as both a colleague and a leader, including strategies that prioritize seeking help and supporting others over maintaining appearances of "saving face."
